Sammy’s recovery, with the aid of fluorescent light therapy

This is the story of 8-year-old Labrador, Sammy’s recovery, with the aid of fluorescent light therapy. Sammy, a sweet and spirited pup, recently visited us for the removal of a lump on the top (dorsal aspect) of his metatarsals. While his surgery initially went well,
his recovery took an unexpected turn when the incision site developed dehiscence and
wound breakdown.

Determined to get Sammy back on his paws, we began treatment using Phovia light
therapy. Over the following sessions, his wound showed remarkable improvement, with
healthy tissue forming and healing progressing far more quickly than expected. Thanks to
this advanced treatment—and Sammy’s cheerful resilience—he made an excellent
recovery and is now back to doing what he loves most.
Sammy’s story is also a great reminder of the importance of having any new or changing
lumps checked early. While many lumps can be harmless, others may require treatment,
and early intervention often leads to better outcomes and simpler procedures.
